WIP Wednesday

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

Hello! I have a couple WIPs to share with you today. The first one is my cross stitch for LMS Quilty Stitches. We are up to block 10 which means there are only 6 left! I can remember starting and thinking how can I wait 32 weeks (2 weeks for each block) to be done with this? But it has gone by so fast and I've had plenty to keep me busy in between. I'm really having fun with this cross stitch. It is the first one I've ever done and since starting, I'm hooked. I've already completed a second one, except for the framing (blogged about here).

I'm also working on teacher gifts for my son's preschool teachers. He has 9 and 3 helpers! I know that seems like a lot for preschool but it is awesome. They break the kids into small groups and rotate through each learning activity. They only spend about 7 minutes on each activity which really helps keep the kids focused and engaged. And with all of those adults, there is very little opportunity for misbehavior during free time. I absolutely love his school and the awesome ladies who work there. They deserve far more than I can ever give them but I always like to do a little something.

I was inspired by Jennifer, over at Ellison Lane, who made key fobs as teacher gifts this year. She wrote up a tutorial a few days later but I was so excited to get started that I found this one at Fishsticks Designs and went with it. I did a slight modification by using a 4.5" x 12" piece of fabric and I added personalization before I sewed the sides together. I purchased my hardware from tantalizingstitches on Etsy. The price was great and the shipping was amazingly fast! I'm so excited that Jennifer blogged about these key fobs when she did because I was running out of time to get something made and these are quick and easy. 2 done, 10 to go!

Have a sew crafty day!

Jenn

    1. You're welcome! My local JoAnn store has them but they're $2.79 for one set. I thought that was a bit ridiculous!
