Work in Progress Wednesday

Hello! Today I am linking up to Lee's WIP Wednesday over at Freshly Pieced for the first time! I hope it works. :)

I joined a Newbee Quilters group on Threadbias. I'm in Hive #8 and we started in April. Emilly was our first Queen and she asked for Road to Oklahoma blocks. This is what I came up with for her:

Michelle is our May Queen and she asked us to make Anna Maria Horner's feather block. She will be making a charity quilt for Lily's Fund for Epilepsy Research with these blocks. I have never made a feather block before and really should have read the instructions more carefully before I just went for it. I got the feather halves pieced just fine but when I cut them out, I must have done something backwards because instead of the V pattern they are supposed to make, they are just diagonal lines. But I think they look cool so I decided it wasn't worth starting over. Hopefully Michelle agrees! I also pieced the bottom white piece on all funky and had to use my trusty seam ripper to pull those apart. That's when I decided I better look at the instructions. ;) Now I'm on the right track!

Until next time, have a Sew Crafty day!

Jenn

    1. Thanks! It's great to be here! I'm only doing the 2 feathers for this bee but perhaps in the future I'll try out a whole quilt. It is a pretty cool pattern, especially now that I've seen it in person. :)
