WIP Wednesday

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced
Sew Fresh Quilts

Hello! If you remember last week, my son taped a sign outside my sewing room to remind me to get going on his quilt for Huggy. Well, not only did I get going on it, I finished the top! This is a snowball block that finishes at 5". I'm thinking about writing up a tutorial. Is anyone interested?

The backing will be the Chuggington fabric and the binding will be the green polka dot fabric. I am planning on doing Leah Day's railroad tracks quilting design on it but probably a bit bigger than what her tutorial demonstrates. I took a 2-class series on free motion quilting at my LQS the last couple Saturdays and I'm excited to actually use what I learned on a real quilt!

Little Miss Shabby

I am really excited about this week's cross stitch block over at Little Miss Shabby. It's a Japanese X & + block and I absolutely love these blocks! I've been going back and forth about making this block for my month as queen over at my Threadbias Newbee Quilters Hive. I'm in Hive #8 if you want to check out what we're doing.
