Hexies and More!

Sew Fresh Quilts
Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. My husband's cousin got married on Saturday in a very nice, outdoor ceremony. I am so thankful that the weather was nice and it wasn't too hot. We were gone for 2 1/2 days so I didn't have time for any machine sewing. Instead, I decided to finally try my hand at EPP and make some hexies! I created a mobile sewing station that worked quite well. I don't have a ton of hexies made but since I'm new to this, I'm happy with my progress so far. I have a lot of 2.5" squares of many different fabrics cut up and thought they'd be perfect for a scrappy hexie project. I have no idea what that project will be yet, but these are just too cute not to make! :)

I am in an intermediate bee over at Threadbias, as well as my newbee hive, and July's queen requested the Atlantic Seas paper pieced block in grays and whites. I got that made yesterday and I love it!

This week marked block #14 in Little Miss Shabby's Quilty Stitches. I'm so excited that we only have 2 blocks to go!
That's all for now! Have a sew crafty day!

Jenn

  2. The block looks great! Also, I'm enjoying the cross stitch project. I recently pulled out my cross stitch UFO's and started working on them again but I have too many to start a new one! Its a nice relaxing end to the my day. Keep stitching!

  3. Love the Atlantic Seas block, Jenn. Well done! I am not a paper piecer, myself, but do admire the craft. How fun to have brought along a portable project for your trip. We'll see where this goes!

  4. Gotta love the portability of hexies. I prepped a pile to take with me on a trip to Cape Breton, but I'm sidelined with a cold instead. Guess I'll have to stitch 'em up here on my couch! And Little Miss Shabby's cross-stitched blocks are almost cute enough to get me back to cross-stitching!

  9. Your Atlantic Seas block is lovely. It's such a difference seeing the actual block rather than the computer version on Quilter's Cache. You are really doing some beautiful things.

  10. I've just started EPP hexies as well! It's been great to do while sitting in front of the TV! I have about 90 of them now and I've been doing them for a couple of weeks :)
