Quilted Placemats Finally Done and New Domain Name!

Hello! I have exciting news! I'be been considering moving my blog over to WordPress.org but I don't know if I'm ready for that just yet. So instead, I purchased my own domain name! Now, when you visit my blog, you can just type www.sewcraftyjenn.com without the .blogspot bit. Cool, huh? :)

I also finally finished my quilted placemats that I started over a year ago! I've had 2 of them done, along with a table runner, but the other 10 got put on the backburner due to my many other projects over the last year. Now they are done and I am so happy to cross this off my to-do list! I'm linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts' finish it up Friday.

The fabric I used was a layer cake cut from multiple fabric lines by my LQS, plus some yardage for the borders, backing and binding. The placemats measure approximately 12 x 18 and the runner measures approximately 12 x 36. When I attached the binding on the runner and the first 2 placemats, I sewed it by hand to the back. I decided to machine bind the rest of the placemats and I like it so much better. I suppose I could redo the others but I'm not too concerned about it.

Have a sew crafty day!

Jenn

  1. They look great! Congratulations on getting them all done. I have found that hand stitching the binding on placemats just isn't worth my time or effort; I like the machine stitched look, too!
