Under the Sea

Hello! I am very excited to have finished my son's quilt! Well, all except the label. I was going to do that yesterday but I have been feeling a bit under the weather so I didn't get a lot done past Wednesday. :( Hopefully I will feel better quickly because we have a family wedding to go to out of town. I plan on starting some EPP hexies in the car. I haven't done them before but I'm all set to go!

But back to what I have gotten done. Here is my son's quilt, called Under the Sea. And that's my wonderful husband's head sticking out the top. ;) I used Kona Coal and 2 fabrics from the Undersea Adventures line of Stonehenge Kids for Northcott for the top. For the back I used Rainbow Isle by Paintbrush Studio. My long-arm quilter used an all over circle design that resembles bubbles and she used a variegated blue thread for the top and a solid dark blue for the back. I love how this turned out and my son is loving snuggling under it!

I was able to get the next level of my nested churn dash pieces mostly ready. I just need to trim the HSTs.

And I got 3 more lovely bee blocks in the mail yesterday! The one on the left came from Kristin in Idaho and the two on the right came from Jane in the Channel Islands, UK. My first bit of international mail! And she was so generous to make me 2 blocks! :)

I am also linking up to Crazy Mom Quilts' finish it up Friday.

Have a sew crafty weekend!

Jenn

  1. Love the smile on your son's face standing by his quilt! So awesome!! The binding is great and I love the quilting and how it matches the theme of the quilt.
