WIP Wednesday and New Quilt Blogger Blog Hop

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced
Sew Fresh Quilts
Hello! I can't believe it's July! Where has this year gone? I have made a good amount of progress on my friend's daughter's quilt. She found a quilt she liked on Pinterest and I designed hers based on that picture. It will have rows of individual fabrics and rows of patchwork. Originally I was going to make the patchwork blocks from the same fabrics as the other rows. But my friend picked out a bunch of extra fabric for me to work with so I used that for the patchwork.

There will be 3 rows of 6 patchwork blocks placed randomly between the other rows. At least, I'm planning on random. Is it possible to plan random? I have a hard time with random because I love symmetry so we'll see what happens. :)

I also wanted to include a picture of my progress on the quilt I pattern tested for Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts since I completely forgot about her blog hop last week! Oops! Sorry, Lorna! :( I have it partially quilted but still need to stipple in the background areas. I will be doing a scrappy binding on it.

Plum and June
As a reminder, the second round of the Plum and June New Quilt Blogger Blog Hop begins next week. I will be featured on 7/9 so stay tuned for that!

Have a sew crafty day!

  2. Oh my goodness, I know! Where has the year gone?!
I sort of do a planned random, too :-) It seems to come back and bite me in the booty when I throw caution to the wind and go entirely random.

    Happy sewing ~ Tracy
