85 Days 'til Christmas!

Hello everyone and welcome October, one of my favorite months! Today marks the 11th anniversary of my first date with my husband and in 13 days we will be celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary. :) But, on another note, can you believe we are less than 3 months away from Christmas?!? Yikes!

Wow, what a busy week so far! Errand after errand had me hopping on Monday but yesterday I took a class at my local quilt shop that was so much fun. I got mostly finished with a set of 4 Christmas ornament placemats. There is an attached loop at the top for a napkin, which I still have to make. The napkins will match the back of the placemats. One of the girls who works at the shop suggested that I not make all the placemats exactly the same and I thought that was a cool idea. Since I used 4 fabrics, I was able to rotate the placement of each to get 4 different placemats that still go together nicely. And they're all tied together with the backing fabric and the napkins. I haven't decided if I'm going to keep these or try to sell them at my craft fair next month.

Over the weekend, I was able to make 13 more mug rug tops. They are turning out so cute! 7 of them are made with the rest of my Miss Kate charm pack and the other 6 are made with a Horizon by Kate Spain for Moda charm pack. I still have enough Horizon pieces to make another 6 or 7 mug rug tops and then I need to get quilting them!

I also have a fun announcement from Craftsy. If you enjoy paper crafting, as well as quilting, you'll want to check this out. They have new paper crafting kits and the one they are advertising right now is for adorable Halloween decorations. You get a kit of supplies to make several projects and free video instructions to help you create them! Check out what Craftsy has to say and if you click on my links or my banner, I will receive compensation for any purchase you make.

The ornament placements are cute too! I love the little touch of their loop being the napkin holder.
