Many WIPs Wednesday

Hello everyone! I'm so thankful school is back in session after all those snow days and I have been taking advantage of my time. In fact, I have been so productive that I've had to revise and add to my to-do list! Here is what I had planned for the week:
  1. Finish trimming HSTs for my aunt's placemats. - DONE! Here is what the the front of the placemats will look like. The blue dot fabric on the right will be a border all around each placemat.
  2. Piece November blocks for my $5 quilt. - DONE! Here are all 22 blocks so far. They are in the order I made them, not the final order they'll be in the quilt. I have to pick up the fabric for the December blocks on Saturday and then I can figure out the placement of each block. There will be sashing between each block and a couple borders. This will be a good-sized twin quilt for my Grandfather. Auntie, if you're reading this, don't tell him! :)

  3. Press fabric and cut all the "scrappy" pieces for my friend's purse (x2 because I'm making a second one to list in my Etsy shop). - DONE! Look at this little basket of fun!
  4. Prepare paper pattern pieces for the apron I'm making for my aunt's coworker. - DONE! And since they were out, I went ahead and did one of my "If I have more time..." tasks. I pressed the fabric for the apron and cut out all the pieces.
Since I got all that accomplished already, I'm adding one more item to my list - make the apron! The construction seems pretty straightforward so I don't think it will take long. It certainly is different working with paper patterns but I'm glad I'm learning how to do it. I'm also learning how to gather fabric because I have to do that for the apron pockets and the ruffles at the bottom. I found a great tutorial on how to do that here at Made.

Once the apron is done, I will move on to the rest of my list and check back again on Friday.

I'm linking up today to Let's Bee Social and WiP Wednesday.
