Slow progress this week

Hi everyone! I have not made a ton of progress yet this week but I did get the apron done. For real this time! Here it is on my not-so-willing assistant. He REALLY did not want to wear it. But it's so cute! Oh well.

I tell you what, I'm glad I made this because I learned some new skills, but I hope I don't have to see another ruffle for a long time! That was kind of a pain in the behind. Now that I know what I'm doing, though, I'm sure the next one will go easier. If there is a next one!

I have a huge pile of chain pieced 2 1/2" squares for my aunt's placemats. I still have a lot more to piece, though. But I love chain piecing because it makes everything go so much faster.

And the reason I haven't gotten any more done yet is because I got sidetracked by one of my pattern ideas on Monday and spent all day working on that! I ordered EQ7 because I got 20% off from being a member of the American Quilter's Society (AQS) and then I got an extra 10% off and free shipping because they were running a special discount code Monday and Tuesday. So I saved over $50 which is huge for that software! I know it will take a bit to learn but then it will be so much easier to design patterns. I'm excited!

I am linking up today to WiP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced and Let's Bee Social at Sew Fresh Quilts.

And now I'm off to a guild meeting. Have a sew crafty day!

  1. What an awesome discount for EQ7! I hope that you have a lot of fun and enjoy using it. I have EQ5 and it has been a great tool. Your helper has the "I am smiling because I have to" look on his face, poor guy. The apron did turn out really well. :)

  2. I like the finished apron and yeah for a discounted EQ, have fun with it. I found it to be very counter intuitive at first and so I read the entire book that came with the program and everything clicked for me.

  3. Darling apron! The planning is very time consuming, but essential much of the time.

Thank you for your comments! I welcome all feedback and love to hear from you!
