Double Crossed Progress

Happy Friday! I made some good progress on my Double Crossed quilt this week. All of the white strips (240!) have been sewn on and pressed. Next week, I'll add the triangles and cut the blocks down to size. After that, the top should come together pretty quickly.

I have pulled all of my fabric for my February bee blocks. The fabric on the right is for some paper pieced blocks using Elizabeth Dackson's Icicle Star pattern that she offered free on the Sew Mama Sew blog. It's such a cool block and I'm excited to make it. The queen asked for either (1) 12" block or (2) or (4) 6" blocks. I'm going with the (4) 6" blocks because I think they will be just adorable! The fabric on the left is for my other February queen who requested 1 Garden Fence block but I'm going to make 2 because it's such a simple block and it only finishes at 10.5". She'll add the outside white sashing when she puts the top together.

So now it's time to start constructing these bee blocks!

I'm linking up today with Can I Get a WHOOP WHOOP? and crazy mom quilts' finish it up Friday.

Have a sew crafty weekend!

  1. Wow, 240 strips is a lot - I bet it feels good to have that portion of the process complete. It will be fun to see your bee blocks. Elizabeth Dackson has some really awesome patterns.
