Goals Met!

Hello everyone. I'm so happy that I have met all of my goals for the week! I got all of my February bee blocks done and they will go out in the mail today or tomorrow.

I finished my "little things" - mended a pair of my husband's pajama pants that I found in my cabinet from who knows how long ago, shortened some hunting overalls for my dad and added button holes to the sides of his face mask so he can comfortably wear his glasses. His overalls are made mostly of wool and the raw edges were serged rather than hemmed. I don't have a serger but my sewing machine has several overlock stitches. I have never used them before but it was super easy and I'm really glad I learned something new! That's always exciting. :)

I also got all of the sashing cut for my grandpa's quilt - the $5 quilt - and started piecing the top. The directions wanted each sashing strip to be cut before sewing them to the blocks but since all of my blocks were not exactly 11", I decided to leave the strips long and pin them to 3 blocks at a time. That way I was sure that my sashing strips would be the correct length.

All of my rows are now complete and I just need to add the long sashing strips in between each row and at the top and bottom, along with 2 borders. My plan is to have this quilt and my Double Crossed quilt ready to be quilted by mid-March so I can get them to my long-arm quilter, Anne, and get them back mid-May to finish. I think this quilt will make a great Father's Day gift for my grandpa.

I'm linking up today to Can I Get a WHOOP WHOOP? and crazy mom quilts' finish it up Friday.

Have a sew crafty weekend!

Jenn
