To Do Week of 2/2/15

Hello everyone. First of all, I can't believe it is February already! January flew by! Today marks the halfway point of my pregnancy. We are going to 39 weeks (hopefully) with a planned c-section on 6/19. So I'm 19 1/2 weeks today with 19 1/2 to go!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Here in southwest Michigan, we had another Snowmageddon and got dumped on. Over a foot of snow with winds making drifts even deeper! Schools were closed before 6pm last night which made Max very happy! Here are a couple pics of our snow. The 2nd one shows the "waves" in the snow because of all the wind. It's kind of pretty.

And, of course, it was Super Bowl weekend. We aren't big sports buffs but Max was so excited and really wanted to watch the game so we made snacks and had our own mini Super Bowl party. His only request was to have rice crispy treats so we obliged and had some other "once in a while" snacks. Max arbitrarily chose to root for the New England Patriots and wanted me to root for them too. He told my husband he had to root for the Seattle Seahawks because we couldn't all root for the same team. Max made it through the entire game and was very excited in the end! Several times, when the Patriots were down, he wanted to switch sides but I wouldn't let him and we came out victorious! It was a fun night!

With the crazy weather, who knows how much I'll get done this week but here are my goals:
  1. Finish my aunt's placemats. I have the tops almost done so this should be attainable this week.
  2. For the 3rd week in a row, make the December $5 quilt blocks and figure out placement of all 24 blocks.
  3. Cut the sashing strips for the $5 quilt.
  4. If I get all that done:
    1. Start putting the $5 quilt top together.
    2. Shorten my dad's hunting overalls.
    3. Add button holes to the sides of my dad's fleece face mask so he can comfortably wear his glasses.
That's another lofty set of goals but a couple things are very quick so we'll see. I'd love to hear what you're working on this week!

I hope you all have a sew crafty day!

Jenn
