About Me

My name is Jenn. I have been married to Vince for almost 9 years and we have a 6-yr-old son, Max, and a 5-month-old daughter, Annabelle. I have been a SAHM since Max was about 10-months-old and it has been awesome to be able to watch him grow and change over the years. We also have a 9-yr-old 4-legged daughter, Kady. She's a lazy labradoodle who loves people.

I started sewing about 11 years ago. I periodically made things for our home but really started enjoying the process when Max was a baby. I bought him a ribbon tag blanket and saw how easy they would be to make so I started making them myself. I sold a few and gave a lot as gifts. I have also made baby blankets, bibs and burp cloths. I've done pillows, curtains and bags and got into quilting in April 2013.

Kady's nails had put holes in my aunt's old bedspread and she couldn't find a new one that she really liked. So I decided to make her a quilt. She picked out her fabrics, I picked out the pattern and proceeded to make a king-size quilt for her! The instructor of a beginning quilt class I took told us not to make a big bed-size quilt for our first quilt because we could easily become frustrated. But I was determined and I got that quilt top done in 5 days! It helped that Vince and Max had gone away for a few days. ;) I had so much fun with that quilt and I haven't stopped since!

Here she is. My first quilt!

  1. Wow it is beautiful and you have really excelled in quilting for just three years experience. Have been looking over your blog and it is really nice. I hope I can learn how to do all these cool things with the blog. It's a hard choice - whether to quilt or to blog. Again I love this quilt. I too have done a few boys quilts but just lap size. I'll have to put them onto my blog soon.
